Quick Quilts
Issue #85
While we certainly haven't had much of an autumn here in the Northeast, winter should be just around
the corner. What better time to stay home and work on some quilts?
We've got a great mix of projects in this issue, including quite a few smaller items that you'll
want to make as gifts. "Sewing Circle" is a roundup of fast, fun projects any quilter would love
to receive. Whip up the "Dog Days" coat and bed set for your favorite pooch, and make our
"Jolly Socks" to delight young and old. And if you're looking for quilts, we've got them too:
"Elephant Baby" is a charming appliqué project, and our "Tea Time" quilt is a combination of
patchwork and appliqué, enhanced with embroidery.
We also have two great Pull-Out Primers written by pros. Mary Butler shares some of the basics of
quilt-as-you-go (which you can use to make her "Provence Kitchen" set), and Barbara Campbell talks
about using border prints and stripes for her "Holiday Home" set.
I must admit: I wanted to pack so much into this issue that I nearly ran out of space! I've got a
ton of projects as web bonuses that you can download at www.quiltmag.com —
but if you don't have a computer, just print them at the library, or drop me a note and I'll mail
them out to you.
